KSEB issues will soon be settled, says A.K. Balan

Steps will be taken to resolve the spat between the KSEB management and the KSEB Officers' Association (KSEBOA), senior CPI(M) leader and former Electricity Minister A.K. Balan has said.

Talking to reporters in Kannur, Mr. Balan said he had held discussions with Electricity Minister K. Krishnankutty and KSEBOA State president M.G. Suresh Kumar on the request of the CITU leadership. The matter would be settled without any harm to the State power utility and its employees, he said.

Meanwhile, in Thiruvananthapuram, the KSEB Engineers Association (KSEBEA) called for the urgent intervention of Mr. Krishnankutty to settle the quarrel between the KSEB management and the KSEBOA.

The KSEBEA termed the agitation planned by the KSEBOA as unnecessary and said that the quarrel was affecting the reputation of the KSEB and the morale of its employees. The proposed strike had the support of only a few officers, KSEBEA president Sunil S. alleged.

The KSEBOA threatened an indefinite stir from Monday outside the Vydyuthi Bhavan demanding the management to correct its flawed policies and to revoke the suspension of Mr. Suresh Kumar and the KSEBOA general secretary B. Harikumar.
