Women and Child Welfare Director and Special Officer (Disha) Krithika Shukla on April 4 took charge as Kakinada district’s first Collector.
Kakinada is the new district carved out from the erstwhile East Godavari district. Ms. Krithika Shukla is a 2013 Indian Administrative Officer.
Addressing the media after taking charge in the presence of her parents at the Collector office here, Ms. Shukla promised better governance at the village secretariat level. “There is a possibility for better administration given the area of the new district. The issues and pending grievances will be addressed on a war-footing,” she said, adding, she would attempt to visit every village secretariat.
