Kristen Bell has been announced as the host for the upcoming 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will be streamed live on Netflix on February 23 at 8 p.m. Eastern time. This marks Bell's second consecutive year as the host of the prestigious awards ceremony, following her debut as the SAG Awards' host in 2018.
In a statement released on Monday, Bell expressed her excitement at being asked back to host the event, stating, 'I’m honored to be asked back and can’t wait to share the evening with my fellow actors, doing what we do best... celebrating ourselves.' The actor, known for her roles in 'Nobody Wants This' and 'The Good Place,' has been praised for her wit, warmth, and charm, making her a perfect fit for the show.
The SAG Awards ceremony, which recognizes outstanding performances in both film and television, will take place at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Last year's host was Idris Elba, and this year, Bell will take the stage to celebrate the achievements of her fellow actors.
Aside from her hosting duties, Bell is also an executive producer and stars in the Netflix comedy series 'Nobody Wants This' alongside Adam Brody. Her impressive acting credits include roles in 'The People We Hate at the Wedding,' 'The Woman in the House,' and 'The Good Place' with Ted Danson. Additionally, she has lent her voice to the character Anna in Disney's 'Frozen' and has appeared in films such as 'Queenpins' and 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall.'
