Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are set to star in the upcoming rom-com series 'Nobody Wants This,' which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in September. The show follows the story of Joanne, played by Bell, an agnostic podcast host, who crosses paths with Noah, portrayed by Brody, a rabbi, at a party.
In the recently released trailer, viewers get a glimpse of the unlikely connection between Joanne and Noah. As they navigate their differing perspectives on life, modern relationship challenges, and the interference of their families, including Joanne's sister Morgan and Noah's brother Sasha, the duo finds themselves drawn to each other.
Creator Erin Foster shared insights into the show's premise, emphasizing that 'Nobody Wants This' does not aim to make political statements but rather explores themes surrounding religion. Foster, who converted to Judaism as an adult, wanted to present a Jewish narrative from an outsider's viewpoint, focusing on the complexities of choosing a different faith.
'This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy,' Foster expressed. 'I realized that being happy is way harder than being miserable — there’s nothing to complain about. So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard.'
All ten episodes of 'Nobody Wants This' are set to debut on Netflix on September 26. The series is a production of 20th Television in collaboration with Steven Levitan Productions, promising an engaging and unconventional take on modern romance.
