Kristaps Porzingis has been ruled out for the Boston Celtics game against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday (Dec. 19.) The veteran big man has been dealing with a calf strain. Porzingis, 28, missed the Celtics win over the Orlando Magic on Friday (Dec. 15) before returning to the rotation for their second win over Paolo Banchero and co. on Sunday (Dec. 17.)
As such, Porzingis has missed two out of Boston’s last three games. Nevertheless, Joe Mazzulla and his coaching staff are likely being cautious with their star center. Boston is on a four-game road swing, where they will play two back-to-backs. The Celtics will go toe-to-toe against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday (Dec. 20) in a game where Al Horford will sit out due to his rest protocols.

Luke Kornet (left adductor strain) – OUT

Boston will also be without Luke Kornet. Neemias Queta will likely get an opportunity off the bench with two bigs missing from the rotation. The big man is currently on a two-way contract with the Celtics, but he has been impressive when given the opportunity to see legitimate floor time.
Celtics fans will now be hoping that Porzingis is cleared to play against the Kings on Wednesday, otherwise, Boston could face a situation similar to last Friday, where Lamar Stevens started as the team small-ball five.
