Star Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis had a sensational debut with the Celtics, leading them to a 108-104 victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, setting Boston and NBA records in the process on the way to starting the season off on a good foot.
In a game marked by strong defense and Porzingis’s offensive onslaught from beyond the arc, the Celtics started the season in the win column. Despite facing challenges in the second and third quarters of the tilt, the team’s fourth-quarter defensive efforts and Porzingis’s offensive contributions made the difference.
The Celtics center scored the final 9 points for the Celtics, showcasing his 3-point shooting ability and shot-blocking skills with 4 crucial blocks to help secure the victory for his new teammates.
