Emotional Kris Doolan has paid tribute to the Partick Thistle players for their support ahead of the playoff victory over Queen's Park following the passing of his father.
The club revealed ahead of the Premiership playoff quarter final that Kris' dad Lawrence Doolan had passed away, but the Firhill boss believes his players paid a fitting tribute to his father with their impressive 4-0 rout. Brian Graham, Scott Tiffoney, Kevin Holt and Danny Mullen all got on the scoresheet during a convincing 8-3 aggregate victory over Owen Coyle's side as the Jags continued to push for the top flight.
They will now face Ayr United in the semi-final, and after the sad passing of his father the boss paid tribute to the support of the dressing room that helping. He told BBC Sportscene: "It was probably just everything I needed. It's been a time of turmoil for me personally, but I have just said that to the players that there is no better way of handling it than coming out and scoring those types of goals.
"That is what I want to see us play like, that is how I envisage us playing. When we put it together both defensively and in attack they are a real force in the Championship."
