Rangers icon Kris Boyd couldn't resist twisting the knife into old rival Chris Sutton after Ianis Hagi's dramatic injury-time equaliser against Aberdeen postponed Celtic’s impending Scottish Premiership coronation.
In a pulsating encounter at Pittodrie, Rangers looked dead and buried after a nightmare first half saw them reduced to 10 men following Ross McCausland’s dismissal and trailing 2-0 to a rampant Aberdeen side.
But Barry Ferguson’s men showed real grit to claw their way back, with Hamza Igamane sparking the revival before Hagi, on as a second half substitute, produced a sublime curling finish deep into stoppage time to salvage a 2-2 draw.
While the point doesn’t significantly alter the title picture — with Celtic still firmly on course for a fourth successive Premiership crown — it did delay their celebrations, much to the visible frustration of Hoops hero Sutton.

The former Celtic striker didn’t hold back post-match, slamming Rangers’ jubilant reaction as “pathetic” during his analysis on Sky Sports.
“Important in what respect? They have drawn the game,” Sutton scoffed. “We can sit here and skirt round it and say 'the title isn't over', but it's absolutely over. Celebrating that goal like that was desperate stuff and tells you where Rangers are at. It’s just pathetic!”
But Boyd wasn’t about to let Sutton’s critique go unchecked, firing back with a classic wind-up.
"You're just raging because you can't get down for a party!" Boyd quipped, defending his old employers.
"Why? You are 2-0 down away from home. Barry's not going to be happy with the point but will be with the circumstances — coming back from 2-0 down with 10 men and scoring a last-minute equaliser. That shows character."
The draw leaves Rangers with little room for error in the league but the second 45 display offers some hope of ending their campaign with silverware on the European stage.
Attention now turns to the Basque Country, where Ferguson’s team will attempt to pull off a famous result against Athletic Bilbao in their Europa League quarter-final second leg following a 0-0 stalemate at Ibrox last Thursday.
