Kris Boyd has issued a stern message to the Rangers supporters who caused several disruptions during their 2-1 victory over Dundee.
The Ibrox legend acknowledged the fans aren't happy with the proposed Sydney Super Cup game against Celtic set to take place later this year.
But he noted the Ibrox playing and coaching staff's displeasure with the numerous stoppages that turned it into a stop-start affair at Dens Park.
Rolls of toilet paper and tennis balls were thrown onto the park at various intervals in protest against the friendly scheduled for November.
It didn't affect the end result with Aaron Ramsey and Connor Goldson turning the afternoon around after Christie Elliott's opener but Boyd told Sky Sports: "I think the Rangers fans have voiced their opinions. They are not happy about it.
"I spoke about it the last time we were on as well in terms of the songs. It's not what you want to see or hear.
"But I think the fans are the main people at a football club; they want to be heard. There's a way to do it. We don't want to see the games stop start.
"I think from the game today, as a player, you don't want it."
Boyd drew comparisons with a similar tennis ball protest from Celtic fans when they learned of former Police Scotland chief Bernard Higgins potentially joining the club in a security position.
He added: "Allan McGregor was a little bit unhappy as well.
"You want to get on with it so from a players point of view, on the pitch it needs to stop.
"We seen the exact same with Celtic up here at the start of the season.
"Listen, if that's the way they want to voice their opinions. I don't agree with it and we are going to have to find a solution."
