Kris Boyd slaughters Alfredo Morelos as he accuses Rangers striker of 'chucking it'

Kris Boyd reckons Alfredo Morelos has 'chucked it' at Rangers and has thrown away the chance to leave Ibrox as a hero.

The Colombian striker looks set to depart Rangers in the summer when his contract comes to an end.

And Boyd hammered Morelos over his recent performances as he suggested he's been "getting worse" week on week.

With that in mind, Boyd certainly wouldn't start Morelos against Celtic on Saturday - even if he wouldn't be surprised to see the striker in the strating line-up at Ibrox.

In his Scottish Sun column, Boyd wrote: "It’s a messy situation as he could still find himself in the starting XI.

"I wouldn’t pick him, but this is a situation which has rumbled on for several months and nothing would shock me now.

"Over the past year there has been a steady decline in Morelos and it gives me no great satisfaction to say ‘I told you so’.

"There was a widely-held belief that he would improve once he regained full fitness.

"If anything, he has been getting worse with each passing week.

"In most of the recent matches, he’s been like a man down."

For Boyd, Morelos should be heading for the Ibrox exit as a Rangers great but instead the pundit reckons the striker will leave under a cloud due to his "deplorable attitude".

And he also questioned where Morelos' future lies as he blasted his final innings in Glasgow, stating: "For reasons known only to himself, he’s decided to chuck it.

"It’s pretty sad because Morelos should be remembered for so much more than the last few months.

"Yet, he has brought all the criticism on himself with his deplorable attitude.

"He should be bowing out as a Rangers great. Instead, he’ll head elsewhere in the summer with his tail between his legs — that is if anyone wants him."
