Kris Boyd provides defiant Rangers Europa League verdict as he gushes over team 'nobody will want to play'

Kris Boyd believes there isn't a team left in the Europa League who will fancy a go at Giovanni van Bronckhorst's Rangers.

The Dutchman's side are through to the quarter-finals despite a 2-1 loss to Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.

Ryan Kent 's goal was cancelled out by Mirko Ivanic and Ben Nabouhane strikes on the night but a 3-0 dismantling at Ibrox in the first leg did the damage.

After dispatching of Borussia Dortmund the round previous, the likes of Barcelona and RB Leipzig await Rangers in the final Europa League eight.

Boyd doesn't believe there is a tie to give his former side any fear. Instead, he believes the feeling of dread will lie with whoever Rangers land.

The former Ibrox striker told Sky Sports: "It's fantastic for Rangers to reach the last eight of a European competition. It's an unbelievable achievement.

"The damage was done in the first leg. Rangers have found a way to get the job done, even though they lost. Nobody will want to play Rangers.

"They are a threat, they can be compact, but they also have blistering pace on the counter-attack.

"It's fantastic from Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Rangers, and it's great for Scottish football. They'll look forward to the draw."
