Kris Boyd predicts Rangers exit struggle for Alfredo Morelos with 'nobody coming forward' inside scoop

Rangers hero Kris Boyd reckons it will be difficult for his former club to shift Alfredo Morelos off their books in wake of his banishment from the squad.

Boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has opted to removed him from selection for Wednesday's defining Champions League play-off second leg against PSV, with the tie currently at 2-2 after last week's first meeting at Ibrox. Morelos' attitude and fitness have been highlighted as key reasons why, all coming the aftermath of his eighth red card in light blue during Saturday's Premiership draw at Hibs.

There's a year left on his deal and talks on new terms have been postponed. Boyd, speaking to Sky Sports, says it's now hard for Rangers to try and cash in: "In terms of the transfer it's a difficult one because when you look at it Alfredo Morelos seemed to be linked with a move away every single transfer window.

"Nothing has materialised and I know Rangers will be hoping for big money and because of his performances in Europe you can understand why.

"But from what I am led to believe I don't think that there has been any offers put on the table for Rangers or they would probably would have accepted the money for him - because this has been ongoing for a number of months now and there has been nobody coming forward with money for Alfredo Morelos hence the reason why he's still there.

"He's continuously linked with a move away from Rangers every single transfer window, nothing has materialised.

"What I will say on that is the world of football is a small place, somebody will always know someone, and they will pick the phone up and they will ask exactly how people are as a character.

"Will teams want to buy or look at Alfredo Morelos? Yeah maybe they will give him the benefit of the doubt for what he's done in the past.

"But at this moment in time it doesn't look good because when he was fit and firing on all cylinders he still couldn't get a move. It's going to be very difficult for Rangers to shift Alfredo Morelos."
