Kris Boyd has branded Rangers' defeat to Celtic as 'embarrassing'.
The Old Firm defeat yesterday followed on just days after Michael Beale's side were thumped 5-1 by PSV Eindhoven in Champions League qualifying.
That result saw the Ibrox club drop into the Europa League instead of competing in UEFA's top club competition.
That have since been suggestions that the PSV defeat was something of a blessing in disguise, as it will allow Rangers to play teams that are of a similar level.
But Body was having none of it, as he took aim at his former club after what was truly a dismal week.
He told Sky Sports: “You don’t get time. You’re four points behind Celtic, your objective was to get to the Champions League yet you’re out of that. I’ve listened to all of the drivel in the week as well in terms of ‘it’s better to play in the Europa’. It’s embarrassing.
“There’s £20million to Celtic again ahead of Rangers. It’s embarrassing. For anybody to come out and say ‘at least we can compete in the Europa League’ - give me peace.
"I don’t know exactly but if I had to hazard a guess, Celtic’s front three probably came in on half the amount of money the Rangers front three have in terms of the strikers who joined this season.
"It comes down to recruitment. If you don’t get it spot on, you’re going to come under scrutiny.
“That’s exactly where Michael Beale finds himself at this moment in time. He’s been backed, he’s going to have to face the questions and answer the questions that will be put to him.
"There was more positivity around Ibrox this week because of Celtic’s last two results, nothing to do with Rangers performances.
“I think that has shown. Embarrassed in the Netherlands on Wednesday night... and you’ve got to say embarrassed today with Celtic maybe four of five players away from fielding their best team.”
Meanwhile, former Scottish referee Bobby Madden has offered an insight into why Kemar Roofe's goal was ruled out by VAR during today's derby fixture against Celtic.
The Rangers striker thought he had opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark, but referee Don Robertson awarded a foul to Celtic for Cyriel Dessers’ challenge on defender Gustaf Lagerbielke in the build-up.
