Kris Boyd in 'sad indictment' Aberdeen vs Rangers blast after Celtic loss

Kris Boyd has blasted Aberdeen as 'woeful' and 'embarrassing' following their 6-0 defeat to Celtic.

Barry Robson's side went down to the champions this afternoon in Glasgow's east end.

Brendan Rodgers' side had a three-goal advantage heading into the 10 minutes of additional time awarded by the officials. By the time the game ended, the scoreline had doubled.

Boyd insists Aberdeen will raise their game for their next outing, which is against Rangers on Sunday, November 26.

And the former Rangers and Kilmarnock striker states that's a 'sad indictment' of the players.

"After that, you're 3-0 down, just see the game out," he commented on Celtic's third of the afternoon. "Take your 3-0 because you've been woeful. That was Aberdeen all day long.

"This, wow. David Turnbull will be happy with the strike obviously but Kelle Roos what an afternoon to forget for him. He's got to do better. He's got to move his feet and get across and save that - the ball bounces about five times before it goes in the net.

"If you're a goalkeeper you've got to make your mind up and go. Really poor goalkeeping once again for me.

"That was Aberdeen all day. We had five or six pitch invaders and they covered more distance than Aberdeen probably.

"What a ball in that is. The one thing about Oh is he always picks up a position in that box where he can get on the end of something. That's not easy to do with the outside of your foot, what a ball from Palma. But the defending again."

He continued: "On 92 minutes you're 3-0 down, get back on that bus and get back up the road at 3-0.

"You then in the end up lose another three goals inside seven minutes and it's now six. It's embarrassing.

"We speak about Aberdeen's record off the back of European football. If you say you're a big club, you have to perform in Europe. You have to find a way to do it.

"You can speak about the squad might not be of that level, but there were a few changes out there today, there weren't a few changes against Kilmarnock and they were arguably as bad then as they were today.

"You can look at the fixtures. I'm sure Barry will have absolutely no problem in getting them up for the next game, that's for sure because Rangers are in town. Fact. It's true. For me, that's a sad indictment of the players."
