Kris Boyd insists Rangers are in a strong position if they decide to cash in on Alfredo Morelos even if the Colombian is entering the final year of his deal.
Striker Morelos is yet again being linked with a move away from Govan with Seville the latest side to be credited with an interested. However, the reported £7million fee the Spanish La Liga club are willing to pay is unlikely to tempt Rangers into parting with such a crucial member of their squad.
But former Ibrox marksman Boyd says the Ibrox side are still in a strong position if they decide to sit down with suitors over a move. The striker missed the run-in last season due to injury but has been a huge player for Rangers since joining from HJK Helsinki in 2017.
And Boyd told Sky Sports News: "It has been every single transfer window since he has arrived that he is basically going to leave. There will be a day that he does. Right now I think Rangers are in a good position. It is not a case that they have to sell. There is room there to go and negotiate with teams.
"I've said it before, every player has a price tag. If someone wants to meet that valuation then I'm sure Rangers will speak about it. As it stands he is a Rangers player and I am sure he will return back for pre-season ready to go to attack the Champions League qualifiers and Premiership when it starts.”
