Kris Boyd fires Gio a Rangers warning as he tells boss 'there's nowhere to hide' after Champions League embarrassment

Worried Kris Boyd knows Gio van Bronckhorst has nowhere to hide now - and reckons the next three games are do or die for the Dutchman.

The Rangers boss is under intense pressure after they bowed out of the Champions League without a single point and the worst goal difference ever recorded in the group stage. Domestically, it hasn't been a disaster with just one defeat in 12, but they are struggling to keep pace with Celtic, who are four points clear at the top heading into matchweek 14.

Boyd knows any dropped points before the break for the World Cup could cost Van Bronckhorst the ultimate price and reckons it's "imperative" they beat St Johnstone, Hearts and St Mirren to sign off on a high. After they come back, though, he's warned the gaffer there will be nowhere to hide - with no European football to distract from their league form.

Boyd, speaking to the Online Betting Guide, said: "If you're in charge of a big football club then you're always going to be under pressure to get results and there's no hiding place from the fact that the performances haven't been up to the standard that fans expect. That's where the frustration is coming from.

"The next phase of Giovanni van Bronckhorst's Rangers career is crucial because there are no distractions now in terms of Europe. Domestic results are all that matter so Rangers are going to have to start winning games of football and playing in a manner that the fans are happy with.

"It's imperative that Rangers get nine points from the next three games and then once everyone is back in December is when we'll see the real pressure."
