Sky Sports have spoken to Kris Boyd regarding his use of language following controversial comments about Callum McGregor.
Celtic announced they were "addressing" claims made by Boyd after he claimed Rangers players should have been "testing out" his protective mask on derby day.
Skipper McGregor has put the row behind him following behind the scenes talks with the former Ibrox striker.
But Sky Sports have broken their silence on the issue noting the pundit has been spoken to regarding his use of language
A statement released to The Herald read: “We are aware of Kris Boyd’s comments made in his column in the Scottish Sun, which he has since clarified and about which he has reached out to Celtic captain Callum McGregor privately.
"Even though these comments were not made on Sky Sports, Kris has been reminded about the language and context he uses in articulating and telling a story.”
McGregor revealed that the behind the scenes talks had went well with the pundit.
He said: “When you read it at first it doesn’t make great reading, I think everybody can see that.
"You look at the comments and think 'that's not great'. But since then he has reached out, we’ve a chat about it and we’ll move on.
"(What was said) will stay between me and him but we'll move on, we want to concentrate on the football.
“He's realised it’s a poor choice of words in that sense and we put it to bed now."
