The Kremlin made a statement on Tuesday regarding the suspension of US military aid to Ukraine, suggesting that it could potentially push Kyiv towards a peace process. While the Kremlin spokesperson did not confirm Russia's readiness for a ceasefire, Dmitry Peskov mentioned that the decision to pause shipments of military aid to Ukraine could have a positive impact on promoting peace talks.
In response to the Trump administration's directive to halt military aid to Ukraine, Peskov stated, 'We have yet to find out the details. But if this is true, then this is a decision that could really push the Kyiv regime towards a peace process.' When asked if Russia would be willing to cease fighting if the US stops arms supplies to Ukraine, Peskov highlighted that some European countries have committed to providing continued support, potentially compensating for any reduction in ammunition supply from the US.
Peskov emphasized, 'If the US suspends these supplies, it will probably be the best contribution to peace.' The situation escalated as Ukraine reported being targeted by Russia overnight, with nearly a hundred drones carrying out attacks. The assaults resulted in injuries to at least four individuals and caused damage to energy infrastructure and residential buildings in the southern city of Odesa, as confirmed by Ukrainian authorities on Tuesday.
