Kourtney Kardashian speaks out on blended family as son refuses to join them for dinner

Kourtney Kardashian has said her blended family with her husband Travis Barker is "beautiful", but there have been some difficulties along the way.

The loved-up couple tied the knot back in May and have worked hard to bring their families together, with 43-year-old Kourtney organising a family dinner for their kids.

The Kardashians star even suggested having a 'no technology meal' after noticing the kids were glued to their phones, but her oldest child Mason, 12, refused to join them for the dinner.

"Our family is growing and expanding and we have so much to be thankful for," Kourtney said during the season two finale of her family's Hulu reality show.

She added: "I love the idea of a blended family. I think the more kids the merrier. You have all these siblings and more people to love, and it’s a beautiful thing."

Kourtney's kids Penelope, 10, and Reign, seven, as well as Travis' son Landon, 18, daughter Alabama, 16, and stepdaughter Atiana, 23, were then seen checking their phones before the food arrived

"Guys, should we have a no technology rule?" Kourtney asked. Travis agreed: "When the food gets here, you guys gotta put down your phones."

Mason's absence was noted, with Kourtney explaining that it had been the low point of her day.

Reign suggested the family share their high point and low points, with Kourtney saying she enjoyed having matcha with Travis.

She added that her low point was when Mason refused to join them at dinner, saying: "Mason has friends over and wouldn't come to dinner."

They wrapped up the meal with Kourtney thanking the chefs for the food.

She later said in a confessional: "I love that because we've all known each other for 10 years and all of the kids have had so many memories with each other that it just feels so good to continue to have the best time together."

She added: "I just think it’s about two families joining together in this true love fairy tale."

"The past few months have just been non-stop, all swirled in with planning our wedding, raising our six kids, doing all these things with the love of my life just makes it all so special."

Kourtney recently gushed over her husband as she wished him a happy birthday and said he has changed her life.

Taking to Instagram to celebrate his birthday, Kourtney wrote: "I am beyond grateful for the day you were born. Happy birthday to the husband of my dreams, my soulmate @travisbarker. you have changed my life forever."
