Kourtney Kardashian rips into Hulu show for ‘ignoring Travis fairytale’ over Scott drama

Kourtney Kardashian launched a scathing critique on the editing of the family’s new Hulu show The Kardashians in its latest episode.

The reality star was seen talking with best friend Stephanie Shepherd over lunch about how filming the new show with her drummer beau Travis Barker has gone.

The mum-of-three then said that they have been having “the best time ever” filming scenes for the Disney+ series, but were then left “annoyed” when they watched the edits of their storylines.

Kourtney said the couple have been “swirled in drama” surrounding her on-and-off ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, with whom she shares her children Penelope, Mason and Reign.

The Poosh founder said she took particular issue with their engagement episode after watching it, saying: “Editors or whoever are taking it as, let's take Kourtney as the chosen one to be the drama.”

Kourtney then explained to the Hulu cameras: “We are all executive producers, so we get to see cuts of the show and give notes on episodes and make sure that our stories are being told.”

She then bluntly added: “I'm in one of the best places I've ever been in my life and it's time for our show to catch up.”

Referring to the engagement episode in which Travis popped the question in a romantic beachside proposal, Kourtney said the drama surrounding Scott which saw sister Kendall Jenner ask if she has sympathy for him was only “two seconds” of the night.

She said: “I didn't even remember it until I saw the cut of the episode.

“It's enabling this old narrative and buying into something that doesn't really exist.

“It should be an empowering episode about me getting out of toxic relationships and having this fairytale love story that is my reality.”

Kourtney then said she had hoped the show’s editors would remove that segment from the episode and add it elsewhere to give the couple their “moment” and “respect”.

Kourtney’s friend Steph replied: “This story for you is you were in a s*** relationship and now you're in a great one. The great one should be focused on.”

She then added: “If I were someone watching the show, I would obviously be asking those same questions like, ‘what's Scott going to say?’ I understand that's a normal thought.

“But I think we were talking about, out of respect for Travis and you being able to come out of that place in your life, I don't want to harp on this storyline anymore.”

Kourtney concluded: “It's all good. We've been broken up for seven years. I'm allowed to create new memories and new ways of doing things.”

The Kardashians is available to stream on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in the UK.
