Kourtney Kardashian 'grateful' kids can see 'loving' Travis relationship amid PDA criticism

Kourtney Kardashian has said she is “grateful” her children can see a “loving relationship” with her fiancé Travis Barker.

The reality TV star, 42, and the Blink-182 drummer, 46, got engaged in October last year when Travis popped the question with a romantic beach proposal.

While the pair have been friends and neighbours for years, they became close during the coronavirus pandemic and went public with their whirlwind relationship in January last year.

The couple, who are known for their very public displays of affection, tied the knot in a Las Vegas chapel earlier this month - albeit without a marriage license.

The POOSH founder has opened up about the pair’s very publicly affectionate relationship, which has drawn criticism, in the second episode of the family’s new Hulu series The Kardashians, which follows up Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

In the episode, the soon-to-be newlyweds were seen looking around houses with a real estate agent, in the hopes of finding somewhere for their blended family to live together.

As the pair sat in the lavish garden of one of the mansions they were touring, Kourtney brought up a clip of the couple kissing at Disneyland, saying that “people were pissed” about their public display of affection at the children’s amusement park.

The mum-of-three then told the cameras: “Kissing and hugging is not a bad thing.

“I'm actually grateful my kids can see a loving affectionate relationship because they haven't seen that their whole lives.”

Kourtney’s beau Travis then said: “I just think people have trouble understanding how two people can be so in love and affectionate because they're f***ing miserable.”

The pair then started steamily kissing in front of their real estate agent, who wandered off to give the pair some privacy.

Before Kourtney found love with Travis, she had a decade on-and-off romance with Scott Disick and they share children Penelope, Mason and Reign together, while Travis was married to Melissa Kennedy and then actress Shanna Moakler, with whom he shares kids Landon and Alabama.

In the first episode of the new Hulu reality series, Kourtney explained how she would “play house” with Travis before they got together, doing fun activities with their kids.

Kourtney continued: “Last year during the pandemic we were texting, so I just put it out there with flirtatious conversation.

“Finally, once I made it known, he asked me to watch a movie.” She added, giggling: “The whole movie he didn't make a move.”

A producer off-screen is then heard asking the reality star: “Who went in for the first kiss?” to which Kourtney said she did.

The Kardashians will be available to stream on Hulu from April 14.
