Kourtney Kardashian has detailed the adverse side effects of her IVF journey with fiancé Travis Barker in the first episodes of the famous family’s new Hulu series The Kardashians.
POOSH founder Kourtney, 42, announced her engagement to Blink-182 drummer Travis, 46, last year after he popped the question on a rose-strewn beach.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and the heavily tattooed musician have since hit headlines after eloping to Las Vegas to get married, albeit without a licence to clinch the deal.
The mum-of-three revealed the couple are trying for a baby in the trailer for the new Hulu show The Kardashians, as the drummer was seen disappearing into a doctor's office as a nurse instructed him to “put the sample in the cup”.
The first episodes of the stylised Disney show give fans a glimpse of the reality star’s fertility treatment struggles, as Kourtney tells momager Kris Jenner that the IVF medication has “put her into menopause”
In one scene at Kourtney’s house, she is seen opening up to her mum about her ongoing attempts to have another baby with her fiancé, describing the process as “awful”.
She told cameras: “Travis and I want to have a baby, so my doctor took us down this road of doing IVF. It hasn't been the most amazing experience.”
The reality star then touched on how the medication has caused changes in her body, noting that her social media has been flooded with “rude” comments.
She continued: “Every single person on social media is always like ‘Kourtney's pregnant, Kourtney's gained so much weight’.
“It's so rude to comment on people when you have no idea what they're actually going through.
“The medication that they've been giving me put me into menopause - literally into menopause.”
Kourtney then explained to the Hulu cameras: “I think because I'm so clean and careful with what I put into my body, it's just having the complete opposite reaction and working as a contraceptive instead of helping us.”
After conceiving three children naturally, Kourtney then said the IVF treatment “put her into depression”, much to mum Kris’s shock.
The 66-year-old matriarch said: “I feel like I've never seen you happier so the depression thing surprised me.”
Kourtney replied: “I have everything in the world to be happy about. I just feel a little bit off and not myself, super moody and hormonal. I'm a lunatic half the time.”
She explained: “I think we want it so badly because we want to make something together.”
Kris then said to the cameras: “Even though Kourtney has three beautiful children, it doesn't make it hurt any less if you're trying to have a baby and you've been struggling.”
The Kardashians will be available to stream on Hulu from April 14.
