Kourtney Kardashian BANNED from Italian church wedding so had to recreate a chapel

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker had their hearts set on a Catholic church wedding when they tied the knot in Italy, but were blocked from doing so.

The pair, who said "I do" on three separate occasions, flew their closest friends and family to the European hotspot as they prepared to share their vows yet again.

However, in their new Hulu special titled 'Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis, they revealed the ceremony had to take place in a specially made chapel.

It turned out neither Kourt, 43, or her drummer beau, 47, had the "really specific documents" required and hadn't done the "one-year Catholic course" alternative.

Their big day in Portofino, Italy, instead was set up by Dolce & Gabbana, who created a chapel outdoor and even hired a helicopter to airlift in a stunning piano in several parts over a number of days.

Footage from the glamorous event was shown to fans on the Kardashian's reality show. Viewers watched on as Travis and his new wife Kourtney posed for photos with their kids inside the church.

Kourtney confessed their original plan was to marry in a church like the Guns 'n Roses music video for November Rain.

Travis tells the cameras: "If it was our choice, we would have gotten married in a Catholic church, and it would have made a lot of sense, since we were both brought up Catholic."

Later on at home, the POOSH founder explained: "And then the church didn't work out, especially like an Italian Catholic church is so strict, and we needed really specific documents, or we had to do a one-year Catholic course."

Instead, they left it up to Domenico Dolce of the high-end brand to create a makeshift church at his property in the region.

Speaking of his input, Kourt said: "One thing I did realise, working with Domenico, is what Domenico says, he just does it. We presented a lot of stuff that looked like the church, and they just like created a church."

Scenes then showed the piano being dropped into place in a number of flights as Kourtney confessed how they managed to get the musical instrument in place.

Despite the intricate preparation, Travis and Kourtney surprisingly admitted they left out a lot of details, with the Blink-182 star saying: "We just wanted to get married. We didn't really care about the details."

For the ceremony, mum Kris Jenner gifted a ring to Kourtney from her late husband Rob Kardashian.

The 72-minute special show also follows the pair as they say "I do" in their two other ceremonies - one in Las Vegas and one in Santa Barbara.
