Kostas Tsimikas sends 'focus' message to Liverpool youngster and makes Andy Robertson claim

Kostas Tsimikas has named the Liverpool youngster who is impressing him during pre-season.

The Reds are currently in Singapore for the second leg of their pre-season tour of Southeast Asia. Liverpool were in Thailand for a friendly against Manchester United in Bangkok on Tuesday, but landed in Singapore earlier today ahead of Friday's clash with Crystal Palace.

Jurgen Klopp opted to use nearly all of his 37-man squad against United. The Reds boss named three separate line-ups with each player handed 30 minutes on the pitch.

One youngster who was given an opportunity was Luke Chambers. The left-back was in the starting line-up before being withdrawn on the half-hour mark.

And, speaking about Chambers, fellow left-back Tsimikas has praised the 18-year-old, who has impressed him during pre-season. The Greek international went on to offer a prediction for the teenager's career.

“This kid impresses me a lot,” Tsimikas told Liverpoolfc.com . “He's a very, very good player and always very focused in the training.

“For me, my personal advice for him is to never stop dreaming and never stop working hard, because in football that's the most important [thing]. I'm really sure the future is bright for him.”

Tsimikas is getting ready for his third season at Liverpool. The previous campaign saw him earn cult-hero status after scoring the winning penalty in the shoot-out victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

Despite spending the majority of his Anfield career as a back-up to Andy Robertson, Tsimikas insists that he wants to be a key player for the Reds this term.

“I train every day for that,” said Tsimikas. “When I came here, I know I have to challenge Robbo. "This is too much for every left-back in the world, but they give me the extra push all the time to work even harder if I want to win something for [my] personal goals.

“That's what I did for these two years, and that's what I will do for the next one also.”
