Korn are taking their time with their new album

Korn aren't ready to put out their 15th studio album just yet

Korn's new music will “take a while".

The nu-metal legends' last studio album was 2022's 'Requiem' and guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch has provided an update on the progress of their next project, insisting they are "very happy" with the material they've produced so far, but it won't be released anytime soon.

Appearing on the 'Everblack' podcast, he said: “Yeah, we got a lot of it [written]. We’re still working.

“Dude, it’s a trip 30 years later, man, to try to keep doing it. And we’re very happy with what we got, but it’s just gonna take a while. And I don’t know how long — maybe next summer, maybe next year, the next winter, I don’t know, but it’s not gonna be soon.”

The latest update comes after Brian told Joe Rogan’s 'The Joe Kingdom Perspective' podcast last September: “Yeah, new music coming out next year. I don’t know, we’re just kind of in hiding right now, just doing our own thing.”

Frontman Jonathan Davis confirmed that the new record was already in the works as they released 'Requiem' in February 2022.

The 'Freak on a Leash' singer admitted it's "nice" being in a band where there's no fighting.

He told Music Feeds: "We're already working on another record.

"That'll be album 15. It's nice being in a band with guys you get along with and you love. I get excited to write with the guys and a lot of people in bands that have been in bands as long as us, they hate each other – they can't even be in the same f***** room."

Meanwhile, Korn were recently announced as the headliners of Download Festival 2025, alongside Green Day and Sleep Token.

The annual rock and metal festival will return to Donington Park in Leicestershire for its 22nd outing between June 13 and 15, with all three acts booked to top the bill performing in the headline slots for the first time.

The stacked bill also includes: Weezer, Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, Jimmy Eat World, Within Temptation, Eagles Of Death Metal, The Darkness, Poppy, Loathe, Spiritbox, Meshuggah, Steel Panther, Lorna Shore, Airbourne, Jerry Cantrell, Cradle Of Filth, Alien Ant Farm, CKY, McFly, Don Broco, Mallory Knox, The Ghost Inside, Turbonegro, Sylosis, Whitechapel, Fit For An Autopsy, Lorna Shore, Kittie, and Jinjer.
