The new Komoot 'Send to Device' feature works with any Garmin device capable of running the Komoot app (available from iOS and Android stores) and that use Garmin Connect IQ, which includes most of the Garmin range like the Fenix, Forerunner, Venu and Instinct smartwatches, and Edge bike computers.
This exciting Komoot feature announcement also comes hot of the newly rumored solar charging function on the Garmin 540 and 840 GPS computers which is likely to cement the Garmin position as makers of some of the best GPS computers for mountain biking.
So whether it's a newly planned all-day gravel monster, your best mountain bike route or even the daily commute you can now send the route (known as Tours in Komoot) straight to your Garmin device with a single tap. Just pick your chosen Tour using the Komoot website or app, select 'Send to device', and it will be ready and waiting for you when you want to begin your ride.
It's also possible to change, swap, and update your route while a Tour is still in progress if you're using a Garmin GPS watch in Komoot's navigation mode. This feature is quite helpful if you want to add a coffee stop or take a detour to see a newly spotted trail.
Like the recently announced Wahoo and Trailforks integration cyclists now have a plethora of superb cycling functionality apps to choose from. Along with Strava and Trailforks, Komoot is one of the best cycling apps available with live tracking, simple navigation and turn-by-turn directions, it makes an excellent application for cycling adventures. On the desktop, it's easier to construct your route, but you can also choose routes from the many posted by other people, and with the simple 'one-click' addition it could make Komoot the winner to partner up with your Garmin device.
