Grateful Kolo Toure believes former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is one of the best on the planet after serving his coaching apprenticeship under the Irishman.
The 41-year-old was named the boss of Wigan after spending the last four years as an assistant coach at Celtic before following Rodgers to Leicester City in 2019. And Toure is under no doubt his mentor is among the best bosses in the world as he aims to turn the Latics' flagging season around as they face a fight for Championship survival.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "He is one of the best managers in the world, for me, which is Brendan that you know. He has been a mentor for me and I have learned a lot from him. Every skill I have learned from him and the previous coaches I had helped me to feel that I can help this Wigan team."
And he admits the likes of Rodgers, Arsene Wenger and Roberto Mancini's methods will be used in his new gig. He added: "When you work with those top managers, what you tend to do is learn from the, each of them have a strength, for me it was to pick a little bit of each of them. I was really lucky to work with those great managers."
