Kolkata Horror: Doctors and Women Wing of NTK protest in Chennai

Senthamizhan Seeman, Chief Coordinator, NTK

Chennai: The Doctors and the Women Wing of the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) political party organised a protest rally in Chennai on Friday against the alleged brutal sexual assault and murder of a trainee lady doctor in the RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Only Party to protest: Seeman
Senthamizhan Seeman, Chief Coordinator, NTK said that ours is the only Political Party in Tamil Nadu which is protesting against this heinous crime of rape and murder in Kolkata because every other political party in the state are in some kind of alliance with West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee and her party TMC.

"So they are not opening their mouths. NTK is the only party raising its voice against this murder. The deceased doctor is not from Tamilnadu or she is not our relative but we are struggling for her here because she is the daughter of India", he added.

Doctors facing problems
Seeman further said, "Our doctors are facing lots of problems during their duty timings. This must be eliminated and protection must be given to doctors by the government.

"Across all walks of life, women are working even during night shift in various sectors like doctors, advocates, central government staff , state government and public sector undertakings , airports and private sectors. But nobody is completely safe," he said.

Seeman urges Mamata to act
Seeman urged CM Mamata Banerjee to do the needful to protect women.

"I request the Tamil Nadu government also to take appropriate measures for the women safety in the state", he said.

Women empowerment
Seeman advocated for Women Empowerment in all walks of life including
1. Social empowerment
2. Economic empowerment, and
3. Political empowerment.

Seeman advocates for 50 per cent seats for women in Tamilnadu Assembly and for Lok Sabha as well . That means 117 seats to women out of 234 assembly seats in Tamilnadu and 117 seats to men . Like wise 20 Lok Sabha seats to women and 20 Lok Sabha seats to men out of 40 Lok Sabha seats of Tamil Nadu to bring political equality.

Equal status for women in society and euqal wages to women in private sectors, agricultural labourers and other fields must be ensured to establish social and economic equality.
