Kohli faces difficulties against spin, check the stats

Pune: India batter Virat Kohli dismissed for one run in the first innings of the second Test match being played in Pune. Kohli was clean bowled by left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner who took seven wickets in the innings. 

Virat Kohli's struggle against spinners continues. Since 2021, he has been dismissed 21 times in just 26 Test innings by spinners, with left-arm orthodox spinners accounting for his wicket on 10 occasions.

Kohli's batting woes continue as he has scored a meager 228 runs in his last 10 Test innings, with just one notable exception - a half-century in the second innings of the first Test against New Zealand. This slump in form has added to Team India's worries.


"Virat Kohli's bat remained silent in the series against Bangladesh as well. He scored 6, 17, 47, and 29 runs in the four innings of the previuos series. In the ongoing series, Kohli has scored 0, 70, and 1 runs in the first three innings.

Kohli's drought for a Test century has been prolonged, with his last ton coming against West Indies in July 2023. To add to this, Kohli has scored only two centuries in his last 57 Test innings, highlighting his struggles to convert starts into big scores. 

Meanwhile, New Zealand has taken 301 runs lead against India on Day two in the second Test match.
