The line-up has been announced for a music festival coming to Knowsley this November as part of its Borough of Culture celebrations.
Knowsley Council was appointed Borough of Culture for 2022 and kicked off its year of festivities in February. Since then, Knowsley has hosted a series of events including a nonsense festival inspired by Edward Lear, who once lived in the borough to spectacular light displays and art works making use of Knowsley’s green spaces.
This November, the borough will play host to musicians including China Crisis, Space, Craig Charles and Anton Powers as the celebrations continue.

Opening up ticket sales for the event yesterday Knowsley Council’s cabinet member for communities and neighbourhoods, Cllr Shelley Powell said she was proud the festival would bring together a “really exciting line-up” that showcased the borough’s “enviable musical heritage.”
With events running from November 10 to 19 in various venues across the borough, including the new Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot, leisure centres and smaller venues across Knowsley, the programme of events has been designed by Liverpool-based music consultant Yaw Owusu.
Yaw said festival has been designed to “first and foremost champion some amazing talent from the borough and platform music that audiences from Knowsley are interested in and will resonate with, as well as provide a variety of quality, affordable and distinct events in important spaces across the borough.”
As well as various gigs and showcases, there will also be industry events, including an afternoon at Our Place in Huyton where experts will be providing advice and guidance to people looking to break into the industry.
Involving master classes, panels and workshops the event, called Knowsley Next: Getting into the Music Industry, is free but ticketed and takes place at Our Place in Huyton on Saturday November 12 from 1pm to 6pm. The full programme of events including information about tickets can be found on the Culture Knowsley website.
Venues, promoters and performers arealso being asked to get in touch with Culture Knowsley if interested in hosting evens as part of the festival with bursaries of up to £500 available for those looking to put on a show.
