Luxury hot chocolate maker Knoops is marking another milestone on its rapid expansion across London with the opening of a new flagship store in Knightsbridge.
The store, which will offer coffee, milkshakes and over 20 different varieties of hot chocolate, is situated on Brompton Road just opposite the iconic Harrods department store and will open its doors to the public on 3rd March.
Knoops founder Jens Knoop said the café chain’s later opening times – its Covent Garden site is open till 10:30pm on weeknights – was helping it attract a wider customer base that conventional coffee shops were missing out on.
“We are getting the post-theatre crowd or the after-restaurant crowd who want a hot chocolate on a chilly night,” he said.
“There is an appetite for something new -- this is about adding something to the culinary scene.”
Knoops, which also has stores in Richmond, Chelsea and Kensington High Street, is now eyeing expansion across the country, with its next store opening planned for Manchester’s city centre.
“There is a broad interest in our chocolate from all cultures and age groups – we’re offering comfort, escapism and something for everybody,” Knoop said.
