Knitting Ninjas yarnbomb Lanarkshire town in stunning Easter display

A Lanarkshire town is an Easter eggstravaganza thanks to some knitting ninjas and their trusty needles.

The Strathaven Combat Crochet and Knitting Ninjas have adorned the town with colourful displays.

Everything from post boxes to bridges and railings have been yarnbombed with all things Easter.

There are bunnies and bonnets galore thanks to the dedicated group - with the public even encouraged to take home some of the handicrafts.

The handy crafters describe themselves as a 'group of crafters who hope to make people smile when they see their work'.

They wrote: "We hope you have enjoyed seeing our Easter yarnbomb which we installed yesterday.

"Thank you to the small dedicated group of ninja knitters and crocheters who work so hard on these displays all year round.

"We are already knee deep in our next project and we would love to welcome anyone who would like to get involved. This one is suitable for those who can 'only' knit or crochet a square or straight lines."

Their fabulous work has received high praise.

One resident posted: "Thank you all again for our fantastic Easter display - you all are amazing."

Another added: "Gorgeous. Thank you for making Common Green look so wonderful."

And one added: "Wonderful as always, no matter what you all do."

This isn't the first time the Knitting Ninjas have struck - they have decorated the town on a number of occasions to mark various events.

Their poppy display last November raised £433.98 for poppyscotland.

Thousands of individual poppies, hand knitted or crocheted, made up displays across the town.
