Knight Frank signs deal at 103 Colmore Row

A new office block in Birmingham city centre has secured another tenant ahead of its opening.

Property agency Knight Frank has signed a deal for 4,376 sq ft on a 15-year lease on part of the 18th floor of the 26-storey 103 Colmore Row, becoming the fifth company to agree terms for office space.

Knight Frank is currently based at One Colmore Row where it employs around 50 people and is set to complete its move in the spring.

Ashley Hudson, partner and head of the Birmingham office, said: "Our combined Birmingham business is expanding with record revenue and profits for the last couple of years.

"A significant part of our strategy is to recruit the very best talent in the industry and our move to 103 Colmore Row reflects this."

103 Colmore Row has been built on the site of John Madin's former NatWest Tower at the corner of Colmore Row and Newhall Street.

It is being led by a joint venture of Sterling Property Ventures and Tristan Capital Partners and has already signed tenancy deals with wealth management and professional services group Tilney Smith & Williamson, financial adviser Grant Thornton and law firm Shoosmiths.

X+Why has also taken 31,500 sq ft of space to run a new flexible work hub and it will also operate the members' business club on the 18th floor while D&D London will have a ground-floor café and restaurant on the 24th floor.

James Howarth, managing director of Sterling Property Ventures, said: "As businesses start to adapt to new ways of working and understanding their future office requirements, we have seen increased interest from occupiers looking to relocate to better quality accommodation."
