A knifeman grabbed a woman as she walked along a canal path in Stockport and threatened her for money.
The terrifying incident happened along the Peak Forest Canal tow path in Woodley in broad daylight on Monday (January 16). Police said at around 1.20pm, the suspect approached the victim - a woman aged in her 40s - and grabbed her.
He then threatened her for money. He was believed to be carrying a knife.

The woman thankfully escaped the ordeal uninjured. Detectives investigating the attempted robbery have now released a description of the suspect.
He is described as being a white male, who was of slim build and around 5ft 9/10in tall. He was around 20-years-old, officers said.
The man was wearing a black and grey face covering at the bottom of his face at the time, with a long, black puffer coat with a hood, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.
He had a local Manchester accent. Anyone with information is being urged to get in touch.
Police Constable Steven Reed from GMP's Stockport division said: "We understand this will cause some concern to the local public, but I can assure residents in the area we are taking this incident very seriously and conducting all lines of enquiry to ensure we find the person responsible.
“We have increased patrols in the local area and will continue to do so, but if you have any concerns at all, please do talk to our local officers for reassurance and guidance as we are continuing to exhaust all available lines of enquiry to ensure we can continue to keep our communities safe.
"We urge anyone who may have been in the area that afternoon to come forward. No matter how small you think the information may be, it could prove vital to the investigation and identify the suspects."
