Knife-wielding men threaten Dunmurry van driver during robbery

A van driver has been threatened at knife-point during a robbery in Dunmurry.

The incident was reported just before 4pm on Friday in the Broom Park area.

The driver was approached by three men and told to get out of his vehicle, with one man holding a black-handled knife.

The victim moved away from the van and it is believed that a number of items were then taken from the vehicle.

The three men were described as being aged in their mid-twenties, with short hair and wearing dark tracksuits.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Kitchen said: "A short time later, officers arrested three men, two aged in their thirties and one in his twenties, at a nearby property on suspicion of a number of offences. They remain in custody at this time.

"While there were no reports of any injuries, this was a terrifying ordeal for the driver who was simply trying to go about his business.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything, or who may have CCTV, dashcam or other video footage, to contact us on 101 quoting reference 1125 of 6/1/23."
