Klopp doppelganger is often stopped and asked for photos since buying LFC coat

A lifelong Liverpool FC fan is stopped on the street daily due to his uncanny resemblance to LFC manager Jürgen Klopp.

Arthur Rizzotti has said that people have been stopping him on a regular basis ever since he bought a coat that resembles Klopp's black puffer coat with the LFC crest emblazoned on it. The 58-year-old said he gets stared and pointed at whenever he goes shopping with his wife, Elsa Quinn-Rizzotti, 45, and people stop him and ask for photographs.

The floor fitter leaves customers speechless when he knocks on their door before they quickly realise it isn't the German manager after all but the person who is there to replace their carpet. Arthur, from Runcorn, is flattered whenever he is compared to the charismatic and adored Liverpool manager.

He said: "It's been going on for a good few years now. We did the Anfield tour. When we were queueing up, the kids were tugging at their parents and pointing at me and the parents are telling them not to be rude. I get a lot of that.

"When we went into the press room, we climbed up the steps to take some photos, I waited for my turn and when I went up, people were taking photos of me and you could hear them saying I looked like him. A lady asked to sit with him in the manager's chair and called her husband, he thought it was actually Jurgen Klopp he was talking to.

"I get it most days. I don't always notice it so it probably happens more than I notice. When I'm out with Elsa, she notices the staring or someone nudging another person and ask 'is it him?' A lot of people ask for photos."

"Customers ask if they can take my photo and send it to their mum. When I go to people's houses, I can tell what they're thinking and I'm waiting for them to say it. When they relax a bit more, they'll say 'has anyone ever told you who you look like?'

"If I go to a match, people stare. In the winter, when I have the coat on and the snood, I get lots of staring. When I go to the matches I send a photo of myself to my brother saying 'It's Klopp in the kop'."

Elsa said: "It probably started when he got the Liverpool manager coat. We were shopping in Primark and a woman stopped us wanting to know why he was in Liverpool Primark shopping. There's a market where the stallholders say he should be a mascot for birthdays."

Liverpool fanatic Arthur says he's flattered to be compared to the football manager and even his mum Betty Rizzotti, 81, enjoys the attention that comes with her son being Klopp's doppelganger. Arthur said: "I'm more than happy with it. He's an amazing manager and an amazing person. It's a privilege. The man's a God."

Elsa added: "His mum loves it. Anyone who doesn't know the family will ask if photos of her and Arthur are her and Jurgen Klopp. It's a compliment to be compared to him.

"He'd love to meet him and have a photo with him. It would be really funny. It would be good if he went around all the bars in town as him."
