Klay Thompson has been the subject of trade rumors all season. The Golden State Warriors veteran is entering unrestricted free agency this summer and could potentially leave the franchise he’s spent the last 13 years with. Thompson is reportedly drawing interest from contending teams such as the Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers.
On Friday (June 14), Thompson sent those rumors into hyperdrive as eagle-eyed fans spotted he had unfollowed the Warriors and removed all trace of his 2022 championship run with the franchise—a move that usually indicates a player is preparing to leave a team.
Golden State’s front office is reportedly dragging its heels on a potential extension for Thompson. As such, he is likely to test his market once the free agency period opens up. Therefore, his social media activity could be a preemptive, incase he does end up leaving the Bay Area for an opportunity with a different team.
