The Warriors used a huge second half to surge past the Kings on Sunday in Game 7, with Stephen Curry’s historic 50-point performance leading the charge for Golden State.
Klay Thompson, who is no stranger to heroic outings from his longtime teammate, made a bold declaration after Curry’s big night. Speaking to reporters, Thompson dubbed the Game 7 victory as “The Steph Curry Game.”
"Gosh, what an incredible performance. This is a Game 7 I’ll forever remember as ‘The Steph Curry Game,’” said Thompson. “Just a joy to watch and play with, I really truly enjoy just sharing a backcourt with him.”

Curry and Thompson have been backcourt partners for Golden State since the 2011-12 season. Despite more than a decade of experience playing alongside one another, the 33-year-old couldn’t hide his amazement with his teammate.
“It’s the best, especially when you have an off night yourself... There’s a reason he’s a two-time MVP, a Finals MVP, because he pushes us over the top in moments like this,” said Thompson.
Thompson didn’t have his best shooting performance in Sunday’s win, converting on just four of 19 field goal attempts and making just two of 10 shots from beyond the arc. He ended the night with 16 points, but led Golden State with a +30 plus-minus.
At the end of the day, all fans will remember is Curry’s dominating performance, and Thompson’s appropriate nickname for the Game 7 victory says just that.
