The campaign to redevelop Kirkcudbright Parish Church as a community venue has received a funding boost.
A vintage afternoon tea in the church hall on Saturday drew the crowds and raised almost £900.
Fundraising committee member Tracy Jones described the sell-out fundraiser as “a roaring success”.
She said: “We had a full house seating 68 guests.
“The event raised £889.50 from ticket sales, raffle, sales table and donations.
“It was a real party atmosphere with metres of pretty fabric bunting hung across the hall ceiling.
“We had china crockery and ornate cake stands at each setting.
“Special thanks go to local shopkeepers and those that gifted all the china table service – Tesco, the Co-op, Keystore, Irvings, Paul Jones Bakery, McClellan Pate and Senwick Farm.
“And of course we can’t forget the fabulous volunteers who supplied the home baking and assistance on the day.”
The ambitious £300.000 scheme to re-design the church interior will transform the building into a multi-use community venue.
Regular Sunday and other services will continue to be held, along with funerals and weddings.
After Saturday’s success the fundraising total for the Kirkcudbright Parish Church Redevelopment Project stands at almost £80,000.
