Kirkcudbright said a phenomenal farewell to the Galloway Viking Hoard at the weekend.
Items from the £2 million discovery have been on display in the town’s gallery since the autumn.
But the exhibition closed on Sunday ahead of the hoard going on display in Aberdeen later this month.
To mark the occasion, a weekend of celebration was held in the gallery and across the road at Soaperie Gardens.
That included a special Viking encampment, giving people the chance to take part in warrior training and enjoy some stories.
And there was also the opportunity to make some costumes for a special honour guard on Saturday night.
More than 200 people took part in the fantastic procession as it made its way through the town before finishing in Harbour Square.
And to bring things to a dramatic conclusion, there was a Viking style boat burning which the crowds enjoyed watching from Moat Brae.
