Kirk Herbstreit pushes back on ESPN’s SEC narrative, calls Ohio State part of dream four

The College Football Playoff is having its first stab at a 12-team format, and there have been mixed opinions so far. One thing is for certain though; Ohio State football is among the best four teams in the country.

Despite finishing 6th in the CFP rankings, the Buckeyes have gone on to blow out the No. 7-ranked Tennessee Volunteers and annihilated the No. 1-ranked Oregon Ducks as well.

Along with Texas, Notre Dame and Penn State, they made up what analyst Kirk Herbstreit calls an ideal final four. He actually said it talking from the viewpoint of ESPN, noting the popularity of these programs and what they bring to the table.

He’s certainly not wrong either. The Buckeyes-Ducks game had over 21 million views, and Ohio State’s battle with Texas in Arlington could blast even that out of the waters.

Let’s just say not many are disappointed that they won’t be having to watch Georgia and Alabama, at least that’s what Herbstreit is suggesting.
