Kirk Herbstreit got into a bizarre Twitter feud with Ken Rosenthal and a Reds beat writer

You may be reading that headline and wondering: Why is it that college and NFL broadcaster Kirk Herbstreit from ESPN getting into a spat with Cincinnati Reds beat writer C. Trent Rosencrans and Ken Rosenthal from The Athletic?

This is a great question. But the result has been what has turned out to be a wild feud that has been all over Twitter on Thursday.

Let’s go back to the beginning: Rosenthal and Rosencrans wrote about the (good) problem facing the Reds, which is big-name prospect Elly De La Cruz could be getting called up soon, but that could leave Jonathan India without a position given that Matt McLain is thriving at shortstop and Spencer Steer is raking at third. Could they actually trade the National League Rookie of the Year from 2021? Move him to the outfield? These are good questions to ask.

Herbstreit is a big Reds fan and started ripping on the article, which led to a big feud:
