Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart updated the status of Georgia running back Branson Robinson following the Mississippi State game. Robinson left the game in the first half after having a physical collision with a pair of defenders.
He appeared to injure his leg on the play. It was a scary moment for Robinson, who missed the 2023 college football season with a torn patella tendon.
“Yeah, I don’t know,” said Kirby Smart after Georgia’s 41-31 win. “I don’t know if it’s real serious. I think it’s an MCL, knee. You know, those are sprains, but I don’t know that for sure. So, I don’t know how serious it is. I don’t have the MRI results yet.”
If Robinson has to miss much time, then he would be a big loss for the Georgia backfield. Robinson is probably Georgia’s top rusher between the tackles. Robinson has 22 carries for 61 rushing yards and two touchdowns this season.
