Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart provided a number of health updates on several key Bulldogs entering spring football practice. Georgia’s spring practice begins on March 12, but numerous Dawgs will not be participating due to offseason surgeries, recent injuries or injuries that are still lingering from the fall.
Unfortunately, Georgia tight end Pearce Spurlin is medically disqualified due to a heart condition. That was Georgia’s most significant injury update entering the spring.
Georgia’s annual spring football scrimmage is scheduled for Saturday, April 13. The spring game, G-Day, will begin at 1 p.m. ET and be televised on SEC Network+.
Kirby Smart gave injury updates on 12 Georgia football players entering spring practice.
Offensive tackle Bo Hughley
Bo Hughley underwent surgery on his left labrum and will miss spring practice. Hughley’s absence combined with Chad Lindberg’s transfer means Georgia will be thin at offensive tackle this spring.
Defensive end Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
Georgia defensive end Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins battled through a foot injury during the 2023 season and had surgery on it ahead of spring practice. Ingram-Dawkins is expected to miss spring practice, but is projected to return for the fall.
Linebacker Kris Jones
Kris Jones signed with Georgia as a member of the class of 2024. The early enrollee previously underwent surgery on his foot and is expected to be limited this spring. Jones is a four-star recruit.
Defensive tackle Christen Miller

Running back Branson Robinson
Kirby Smart noted Branson Robinson is in month seven of his nine month recovery from a torn patella tendon. Robinson, who is running, is not cleared for the spring, but should be better in a few months when he gets closer to his nine month timeline.
Safety Malaki Starks
Georgia superstar safety Malaki Starks is limited this spring after undergoing shoulder surgery. Starks’ previous partner at safety, Javon Bullard, is entering the NFL draft, so Georgia needs to find who will start opposite Starks.

Georgia wide receiver Rara Thomas is entering his second season with the Dawgs. Thomas is still recovering from a foot injury, but is taking some repetitions and is expected to be limited this spring.
Outside linebacker Damon Wilson
