Kirby’s Dream Buffet brings delectable dishes to Nintendo Switch this summer

Kirby has been having a magical year thus far, and the pink puff is bringing some friends along for an all-new delicious adventure.

On Tuesday, Nintendo surprise announced Kirby’s Dream Buffet – a 4-player Fall Guys-inspired party game that’ll arrive exclusively on the eShop this summer. It’s essentially a high-speed race with obstacles where everyone eats strawberries along the way. Scarfing down all that fruit causes your in-game avatar to grow in size and smack competitors away. Unlike the rest of us, Kirby burns through calories like it’s no big deal.

It looks as though the biggest Kirby wins. Finally, a competition specifically suited to my own unique set of skills: eating and immediately regretting it.

While there’s no firm release date or pricing information for Kirby’s Dream Buffet yet, Nintendo is getting it out the door before fall. Considering it’ll only be available via the eShop, don’t expect it to be a massive title or anything like that.

The franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, with an enormous free concert going down in a few weeks. Then, of course, there’s Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which came out in March.
