The Kinross-shire community is saddling up for an event to celebrate the achievements of its own horse training heroes.
The Thistle Hotel in Milnathort was packed to the rafters when locally-trained Corach Rambler won the Grand National at Aintree in April.
Hotel owner, Richard Law, said the occasion was so momentous for the town that he had to fight back the tears.
It was the second Grand National success to come out of Lucinda Russell’s Arlary House Stables in seven years after the late One for Arthur won the 2017 race.
And now the hotel and stables have teamed up to host an event in the establishment’s car park on Saturday to celebrate Lucinda Russell and her stable’s incredible success.
Running from 1pm to 6pm, four live bands will be performing and a face painting station will be set up for young ones.
Free food will be available from the kitchen with free drinks for the kids.
A beaming Richard said: “Everyone at the stables – jockey Derek Fox, Lucinda Russell and Peter Scudamore among them – will be celebrated.
We just wanted to say thank you to them. To win the Grand National twice is incredible.
“All the jockeys and trainers are regulars here and are well known in the pub.
“I have personally known them for years and I have got to know them all.
“They are well supported locally.
“We are expecting hundreds to turn up over the course of the day.
“It is going to be a great day. There is a buzz about the place.”
Recounting the thrilling Corach Rambler win, Richard said: “The pub was jam packed and we were all shouting for Derek Fox.
“It was unbelievable. I had tears in my eyes. The atmosphere was unbelievable.
“So this event is to support them for all they have done for the area.”
The day is an open invite to the public.
