Kingswood Sainsbury's entrance smashed up during overnight crime rampage

Two people smashed through the door of a High Street shop in Kingswood during an overnight crime spree. Avon and Somerset Police said officers were called out to the Sainsbury's Local store after receiving reports that two people on a motorbike had broken into the site.

Officers raced out to the scene at around 1.50am yesterday (July 12), but the offenders had left by the time they arrived. The incident, which led to the shop being closed for several hours, is believed to be linked to several others during yesterday morning which saw a number of properties damaged in Kingswood and Bedminster.

An appeal for witnesses has been issued by the force. Officers have also been carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area.
