The first title of the Kingdom Hearts series was first released way back in 2002 and led by none other than the legendary game director Tetsuya Nomura. It started what would become a longstanding collaboration between Square Enix and Disney. Since then, more than 36 million copies franchise have been sold. Kingdom Hearts III in particular has managed to ship at least five million units worldwide, both physically and digitally. It has since become the fastest selling title in the history of the series. The upcoming title Kingdom Hearts IV is currently in development and planned to be released for console devices.
