Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz met with US President Joe Biden at the al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Friday.
They held talks on the historic bilateral relations that bind Saudi Arabia and the United States and ways to bolster them to serve the interests of their countries and peoples.
The meeting was attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Dr. Musaed Bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and National Security Adviser.
On the American side, the meeting was attended by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
Crown Prince Mohammed had welcomed Biden upon his arrival at the palace.
Biden had arrived in Jeddah moments earlier on an official two-day visit at the invitation of King Salman.
Biden will attend a summit called for by King Salman for the Gulf Cooperation Council leaders. The summit will be attended by Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi.
