Prince George's role in King Charles' coronation has resulted in a "bit of an argument" between his parents, according to reports.
The eldest son of the Prince and Princess of Wales will be expected to be on display along with his siblings on the day their grandfather is officially crowned. But it's led to some worries for William and Kate over pressures on the youngster, an expert claims, as writes the Mirror.
Speaking to the Express, royal commentator Tom Quinn reckons a "bit of an argument" has been going on behind the scenes over exactly what role the nine-year-old will play at the Westminster Abbey event on May 6, as his mum and dad are trying to weigh up if it's too much responsibility for him.
The author of the newly-released book Gilded Youth said: "I've heard from my contacts that there is a bit of an argument going on about whether George should play a more formal role. I've heard that Kate and William are worried that it will be too much for him."
Mr Quinn suggests the role played by George won't be "too prominent" and will continue the gradual way he and his siblings have been introduced to the public over the years.
Speaking about concerns over the role, he added: "It's almost an echo of the way William and Harry were sometimes made to attend formal occasions that they shouldn't have been made to attend, most famously, the funeral of their mother, and walking behind her coffin at their age.
"A lot of people criticised that and said that it was a horrible thing to make two boys that young, and especially Harry, do.
"So I think people are remembering this and thinking, 'Well hang on a minute, if George is some sort of a pageboy, or has a similar role at the Coronation, is that going back too far towards the traditional roles?'
It's been previously reported that Camilla Parker Bowles' five grandchildren will also be involved in the coronation. But Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet won't be as they're "too young".
